Derek was incredibly knowledgeable on whiskey and a very good storyteller. Making an Irish coffee was really fun and we left with a recipe we can pull out later which I’m sure will impress.

We had an incredible time with Derek on this Irish whiskey tour. The tastings took us across a wide range of different whiskeys. Derek’s commentary and information about this history of Irish whiskey and the individual brands we tasted was extensive. The historic Swan Bar was a wonderful location for the tasting with central location and wonderful past. If you want to learn about Ireland, its distilleries, and its whiskeys, then Derek and his Premium Whiskey Tour is probably the best by far in Dublin. Go! Enjoy!

Our guide, Derek, proved to be an exceptional source of knowledge and made the entire experience truly exceptional. If you’re a whiskey lover, this is an absolute must-visit destination in Dublin.

This was the absolute highlight of my hen! The set up was absolutely fantastic, everyone had their own little station with all the ingredients. Derek talked us through how to make them and gave us lots of fun interesting facts. Derek himself is so sound and knowledgeable and honestly couldn’t do enough for us, he literally went out his way for us (we mentioned we’d ran out of wine but after the cocktails nobody could drive to get more, so he dropped two of us down to the local shop to get some). He was fantastic. The drinks though…..wow these are some 5 STAR – HIGH END cocktails, not your average cheap cosmos and sex on the beach, oh no. These are top shelf and hard to find spirits, mixers and liqueurs, best margarita and mojito I’ve ever had and the whiskey sour was just fantastic. Cannot recommend this experience highly enough, in fact we’re rebooking him for another event. This is a bargain at twice the price. Amazing. Made my hen.

Derek’s whiskey tasting was a highlight of our trip to Dublin. He was flexible with scheduling and selected whiskey at multiple price points, including some very accessible, and affordable options (a rarity at some tastings). His interactive and conversational style ensured all of our questions were answered. His passion for his work is evident, and he’s only matched by his enthusiasm. Highly recommend.

This is a really unique tasting experience. It’s small group so you can ask lots of questions, and Derek is really knowledgeable. You also get to taste some really different whiskeys and the experience is super fun! Can’t recommend it enough.
