Derek’s whiskey tasting was a highlight of our trip to Dublin. He was flexible with scheduling and selected whiskey at multiple price points, including some very accessible, and affordable options (a rarity at some tastings). Walsh, where Derek ran through some cracking irish whiskeys, gained a great insight into some old reliable and new emerging irish whiskies. Wonderful experience, a must for anyone visiting Ireland The experience was exceptional as Derek hosted us in a very authentic Irish pub and was extremely knowledgeable about whiskey. It was also great to be able to speak generally with a local about all things Ireland / Dublin. I would highly recommend for any visitor to Ireland.

Whether you’re a whiskey lover or not, the Irish whiskey experience is a great activity to do in Dublin alone or with a group of friends. The host, Derek, was very friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. You can learn a lot about whiskey history and try whiskey from different Irish brands.

I have done 2 tasting with Derek now and both have left me in awe. 1st was through The Village Whiskey Society and the knowledge he passed on to us was amazing. The overall set up was great and he was more than happy to entertain any questions (stupid or not lol) the whole group loved it. 2nd was for a friend's Stag. Derek was more than accommodating. We had a small group of whiskey and non whiskey drinkers. By the end of it he had educated and converted the non whiskey drinkers all while keeping everyone engaged and entertained. I can't wait for the next tasting.

Derek looked after my group when we visited Dublin just a few weeks ago in January. Derek is such an incredible guide! He knows so much about whiskey, has a passion for it, and is really great at explaining things to less knowledgeable people. The tasting took place in a heritage pub in Dublin, and we all really enjoyed the experience and the setting! If you have a couple of hours, want to have fun, and also get a good understanding of this popular Irish drink, then search no further! This is a must do for you!
