At the helm of our whiskey experiences is founder and resident whiskey expert Derek King, former Global Brand Ambassador for Powers Irish Whiskey and Slane. With over a decades experience, extensive knowledge and a lifelong passion for Irish whiskey, Derek is the quintessential companion for any tasting, tour, or masterclass.
He began his whiskey career at Slane Distillery, managing the visitor centre at Slane Castle, before going on to represent Powers Whiskey on the global stage. Derek also has extensive experience in the Irish bar and hospitality scene, having worked as a bartender, manager, and pub owner in Australia, Canada, and beyond. His love of Irish pub culture is complemented by deep whiskey expertise gained through training, tastings, and years of guiding enthusiasts around Ireland.
